A Voice Yelling in the Wilderness
Take comfort! take comfort! my people, says your God.
O priests, speak to the heart of Jerusalem! Comfort her! for [2
was filled up 1
her humiliation]; [3
is untied 1
sin]; for she received from the
hand of the LORD
double her sins.
A voice yelling in the wilderness, Prepare the way of the LORD
Make] the roads of our God!
Every ravine shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be lowered; and [4
shall be 1
] for straight, and the rough into [2
shall be seen 1
glory 3of the LORD
]; and [3
shall see 1
flesh] the deliverance of God, for the LORD
A voice saying, Yell! And I said, What shall I yell? All flesh is as
grass, and all glory of man is
flower of grass.
is dried 1
grass], and the flower fell off, for breath of God breathed in it. Truly the grass is the people.
is dried 1
flower fell off, but the word of our God abides into the eon.
Ascend]! O one announcing good news of Zion. Raise up high in the strength of your voice! O one announcing good news of Jerusalem. Raise it up high! Do not fear! Say to the cities of Judah! Behold, your God.
Lord. The LORD
comes], even the arm with dominion. Behold, his wage is
with him, and the work before him.
As a shepherd, he shall tend his flock; and his arm shall gather the
lambs, and [3
one in 4the
one having 1
he shall comfort].
Israel's Incomparable God
Who measured [3with
water], and the heaven with a span, and all the earth in a handful? Who established the mountains weight, and the groves in a yoke balance scale
Who knew the
mind of the LORD
? and who [2
became]? Who shall instruct him?
Or whom did he take up advice with, and instructed him? Or who showed to him equity? Or [4
a way 5
of understanding 1
Since all the nations [2
a drop 4
a pail 6
of a yoke balance scale 1
were considered]; and [2
they are considered].
And Lebanon is
not fit for burning, and all the four-footed are not fit for a whole offering;
and all the nations [2
are], and [2
were considered] to him.
To whom did you liken the LORD
, and to what representation did you liken him?
an image 2
fabricator]? or the
goldsmith having cast gold, gilt it over, [3
for a representation 1
and carefully prepared 2
fabricator], and wisely seeks how to station his image, that it should not be shaken.
Will you not know? Will you not hear? Was it not announced from the
beginning to you? Did you not know the foundations of the earth?
the one controlling the curve of the earth, and the ones dwelling in it are
as locusts; He is
the one establishing [3
a vault 1
heaven], and extending it out as a tent to dwell in;
the one establishing rulers [2
to rule]; [3
For in no way shall they plant, nor shall they sow, nor shall they be rooted in the earth of their root. He breathed upon them, and they were dried up; and a blast [3
shall take 2
Now then, to whom did you liken me that I shall be exalted, said the holy one?
Look up into the
height with your eyes, and behold! Who introduced all these things
? The one bringing forth [2
his cosmos] [2
all things 3
shall call] by great glory, and by the
might of strength. Nothing of which
you should] say, O Jacob, and why did you speak, O Israel, saying
was concealed 1
My way] from God, and my God [2
removed], and departed.
And now, did you not know? Have
you not heard? [2
eternal], the God carefully preparing the tips of the earth, he shall not hunger nor tire, nor is there
a finding out of his intelligence;
to the ones 3
strength], and [2
to the ones 3
shall hunger 1
], and [2
shall tire 1the
young], and the
without strength 1
But the ones waiting upon God shall change in strength; they shall grow wings as eagles; they shall run and shall not tire; they shall proceed and shall not hunger.
